Contemporary Surrealist may best describe
Robert Deyber. Influenced by Rene Maritee and Salvadore Dali,
Deyber's images wade between a waking and sleep state; the dreams
we have but can't remember. Deyber remembers and as a storyteller
he's willing to reveal the collective unconscious with humor, sadness
and irony.
In 2006 Tom Petty commisioned Deyber for his album Highway Companion. Deyber's
work in the Burlingame Collection represents his rare earlier series Original
Sin, landing us closer to his roots and beginnings.
